Author Roosevelt Wright, Jr.

Reverend Roosevelt Wright, Jr., graduated from the University of Louisiana and has spent more than four decades as a journalist. He has studied and written extensively about African- American life and culture in the Louisiana/Mississippi Delta and is the publisher of The Monroe Free Press, a newspaper in Monroe, Louisiana.  He is also the pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Monroe, LA.  His latest book is entitled,  "The Children of Panther Burn".  For more information, please visit:

Author C. Alisa Greene

 

C. Alisa Greene is the author of, Mama's Gone, Now What, and "God's Little Houses.  She has a passion for positive change on the earth. She was born in Ruston Louisiana and raised by two wonderful parents Johnny and Charlene Greene. She matriculated at Grambling State University where she obtained an Associate of Science Degree in Aging and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Social Work. Alisa later did some graduate work at Louisiana Tech University.

Author Fred Atkins

 

Fred is a native of Bastrop, Louisiana, a small town located in the northeast corner of the state.  In 2005, Fred wrote his first book titled "20 Things That You Should Know About Life" which has not yet been published.  However in the same year, he self-published a book titled "200 Reasons Why You Might Want to Tell God Thank You!".  Afterwards, he began work on a book titled "How to Maintian a Positive Attitude During Difficult Times" which was published and released by Publish America in April 2009.

Author Louis Edwards

 

  Louis Edwards was born in 1962 and grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Since 1986 he has worked for the public relations offices of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the JVC JAZZ Festival-New York. He lives in New Orleans.

Author Ernest Gaines

 

Ernest Gaines is a writer-in-residence at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His 1993 novel, A Lesson Before Dying, won the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. In 2004, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Author Lynn Emery

Mix knowledge of Louisiana politics and forensic social work, with the dedication to write fiction while working each day in an acute psychiatric unit for women, and you get a snapshot of talented author Lynn Emery. Lynn has been a contributing consultant to the magazine Today’s Black Woman for three articles about contemporary relationships between black men and women.

A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lynn writes after work and on weekends. Flagging energy does not present a problem. “I began to write when I was eleven years old and I won’t ever stop. That tough little kid inside me who dreamed of holding her own book won’t hear of it. Let me tell you she cracks the whip!”

Lynn's latest novel is SOULFUL STRUT is from HarperCollins. She has also completed a inspirational non-fiction book called BE ENCOURAGED: WORDS OF SUNLIGHT FOR THE SOUL.
