Make Me Whole by Roishina Henderson!

"Make Me Whole" is a story about the lives of three close friends and their journey to discover "whole beauty". It easily reaches a wide audience. Everybody knows a Prescilla (Cee-Cee), a Jacky, or Denise (Neicy). She is your sister, your girlfriend, your mother, your daughter or your cousin. They are strong black women who have strengths and weaknesses you can identify with. I caught myself thinking 'uh huh, I know what you mean' as I turned the pages.

The basic root of the story is their personal relationship with God. Where they are in this connection, where they should be, and how or if they get there.

This is author Roishina Henderson's debut novel - Kudos! This was a great read. I highly recommend this book. It will make you smile, knowingly nod and even cry. To author, Roishina Henderson, I know there is more to come for these women, please do not end their stories here.

Dubious by Tina Brooks McKinney!

I am very proud of Tina for taking a risk with "Dubious." Very, very impressive!  Some people may not be ready for this type of book.  This book is full of humor, suspense, twists and turns. It discusses relationship issues (marital issues (to the 10th power), infidelity issues, new found love, friendship), homosexual issues, corporate issues(politics, glass ceiling issues, betrayal, race relations, HR issues), entrepreneurship, animal issues (to say the least -- I will not spoil it) and last but not least -- erotica - you name it, the book discusses it, along with the drama. In the midst of the drama, the book contains a romantic love story. There are many definitions for the word "Dubious" - namely as it is so eloquently stated on the cover of the book. Another definition that comes to mind is -- "of uncertain outcome". In other words, the reader will be on edge of his or her seat during this suspenseful reading journey in an attempt to figure out what will happen next. You think you know? Well, you don't. As the title suggests, "Everything may not be as it appears." Whew -- isn't this the truth?? If you need a book for your book club, this will definitely keep them talking until 2010 (or forever..forever...ever). Kudos Tina! I am waiting on your next book!
