The Acadians brought beignets to Louisiana. At first, they were fried fritters, sometimes filled with fruit. They are famous in New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana.

She visits Cafe Du Monde, eats a few beignets, grabs a cup of coffee (a few cups of coffee :)), and reads her book. This wonderful experience is why she decided to name the book club "Books and Beignets" due to her love for beignets and Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans, Louisiana. After all, Louisiana is rich with culture that no other state can replicate!
